8 ISIS dens destroyed and 3 explosive devices seized in Salah al-Din

The Popular Mobilization Forces announced the destruction of 8 dens belonging to the terrorist ISIS and the seizure of 3 explosive devices in the governorates of Salah al-Din and Kirkuk.

A statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: "Our leadership has concluded operations in Kirkuk, east of the Tigris, and the northern axis, with the participation of the Iraqi army and security forces, and the wide security operation in the common areas between the governorates of Kirkuk and Salah al-Din.".

The statement added, "The operations were attended by the 61st, 52nd, 16th, 63rd, and 40th Brigades, the Special Missions Regiment, the Special Operations Command Regiment within the Kirkuk and East Tigris Commands, and the North Axis Command in the Popular Mobilization Forces, in partnership with the support and technical directorates.".

He pointed out, "The security operation was attended by the army forces, the rapid response, and the army's aviation behind the mountain range of Tuz district in Salah al-Din governorate, to pursue criminal ISIS cells and limit the movements of its elements between Kirkuk and Salah al-Din.".

The statement concluded, "The operation resulted in the destruction of 8 dens for terrorist ISIS remnants and the discovery of 3 explosive devices that were intended to target military units."
