DMC calls for the adoption of a national strategy for artificial intelligence

    The Digital Media Center (DMC) renewed its emphasis on the need for the new Iraqi government to keep pace with developments in the digital world, especially since artificial intelligence technologies have witnessed significant progress.

    The center stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "in light of the growing applications of artificial intelligence in business and jobs, it has become necessary for the government to adopt an integrated national strategy for artificial intelligence, benefit from international experiences and enhance the role of these technologies in all areas of life." .

    The center indicated that "dedicating artificial intelligence, whether in government or private work, will enhance practical investment opportunities for modern technologies and their adoption in business performance.

    It stressed the need to develop frameworks (artificial intelligence ethics) in order to strengthen the relationship between human rights and this type of technology, which contributes to in reducing potential risks.

    The center called for "the importance of establishing a digital legislative system that addresses the problems of artificial intelligence and its adoption in many functions, including the digital privacy of personal data, as well as the development of legislative frameworks that are compatible with the challenges of artificial intelligence, whether in the criminal or civil aspects."
