The governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, announced the organization of the first tourism forum in the province, with the participation of more than 60 specialized companies.
Al-Jubouri said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "For the first time in the history of the province, and after the opening of its international airport, which currently operates its flights, in addition to the efforts of reconstruction, services and expansion of roads, and the security stability witnessed by the province, the Tourism Authority - Kirkuk Tourism Department organized in cooperation With the administration of the province, the first tourism forum in Kirkuk with the participation of more than 60 companies specialized in the field of production, industry and tourism companies to promote the tourism reality of the province.
He added, "There are tourist sites that deserve to be highlighted, represented by the Shiosur Dam, the Dibs Dam, the Special Dam, the green spaces and nature in the Zab district, the green spaces in the Hawija district, the heritage sites in the Daquq district and the Daquq Bridge, in addition to the Kirkuk Citadel and its historical shell.".
Al-Jubouri continued, "There was a very large cooperation and response, and the focus was on the proposed sites in the future for the purpose of rehabilitating, developing, investing or presenting them as investment opportunities."
