Hamoudi receives Iranian Foreign Minister

    The leader of the Islamic Supreme Council, Hammam Hamoudi, expressed on Thursday,  his hope that the residency procedures for Iraqis in Iran would be facilitated.

    Hamoudi office said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Hammam Hamoudi, resigned today Thursday, in his office in Baghdad, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian," noting that "the Political developments and the importance of Iraq's role in stabilizing the region were discussed.."

    Hamoudi affirmed "the strength of bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries," praising "the role of the Islamic Republic in its support for the Iraqi opposition in confronting the defunct regime, and also during Iraq's war with the terrorist ISIS, as well as the development taking place in the economic aspect between the two countries, especially in the field of energy and electricity."

    Hamoudi expressed his hope "the Islamic Republic will facilitate residency procedures for Iraqis."

    For his part, the Iranian foreign minister praised "the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, its long struggle history, and the positive relationship with the Islamic Republic," expressing his wishes of success to the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani."

    He pointed to "the development of relations between the Islamic Republic and some countries of the Gulf states in order to achieve stability in the region."
