Ministry of Water Resources announced on Wednesday, Iraqi-Iranian talks to establish projects for measuring discharge stations and exchanging information on rivers.
The Minister of Water Resources, Awn Dhiab Abdullah, visited Tehran, Iran at the head of a ministerial delegation, to participate in the 13th meeting of senior officials of the Board of Governors of the Regional Center for Urban Water Management. This came at the official invitation of Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian, according to the ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The minister held a meeting upon his arrival with Mehrabian, in the presence of the undersecretary and several stakeholders in the Iranian Ministry of Energy.
During the meeting, issues related to prospects for cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources and the Iranian Ministry of Energy in the field of joint water resources management were discussed, and the possibility of establishing projects that serve the two countries in this field, including stations for measuring discharges and exchanging information related to common rivers.
