Russian army takes control over a town in northeastern Ukraine

    Russia claimed on Saturday, to have taken control of a small village near the city of Kupiansk in the eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

    The Ukrainian army indicated that "the small village of Gryanikyvka was bombed yesterday's Friday, by Russian artillery."

    The 20 kilometers northeast of Kobyansk town and the main city in this region of Kharkiv captured by the Russians in the early days of the offensive a year ago.

    After that, the Ukrainians recaptured the city of Kobyansk last September, which had a population of about 30,000 before the war.
