First Deputy Speaker of the parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi said on Sunday that the parliament supports the activities of the culture of coexistence, tolerance and rejection of extremism.
Al-Mandalawi said in a speech on the International Day for Preventing Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism, attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Artistic and cultural events that emphasize the culture of coexistence, tolerance and rejection of extremism must be rooted in the minds of new generations through educational curricula at various stages of education."
He added that "the parliament declares its full support in this area as permitted by the constitutional and legal powers that can be provided through legislation, ratification of relevant international agreements and monitoring their implementation on the ground."
