Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani stressed on Wednesday, the importance of data security and the need to protect government databases.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA)," Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, held a meeting focusing on discussing the integration of government databases in the presence of the Minister of Communications and several specialists from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry Planning, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry Health, the Ministry of Communications, and the Independent High Electoral Commission."
During the meeting, Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of data security and the need to protect government databases.
The statement pointed out that the databases available in different government agencies could be of great value, especially when integrated with other databases. For instance, it is helpful in auditing and identifying specific targets. There should be a central national database that is available to all departments to view what is authorized. The Prime Minister called for developing a modern methodology for managing data according to standard international models to achieve data security and integration, simplify procedures, reduce costs, and combat corruption."
Al-sudani directed his teams to continue holding meetings to discuss this issue and enhance communication and integration, to present proposals and plans to overcome delays to remove obstacles that will be reflected in the development of performance and the improvement of services provided to the Iraqi citizens.
