FM Hussein and US ambassador discuss the Iraqi delegation visit to Washington

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein and the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski discussed on Wednesday, the agenda for the Iraqi delegation's visit to Washington.

    Hussein and Romanowski discussed developments in the political situation in Iraq at various levels, and the importance of strengthening mechanisms of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the US for the interest of the two countries, in addition to the security challenges facing the region in general, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The two sides touched on the upcoming visit that the Iraqi delegation will make to Washington in the next few days, headed by FM Fouad Hussein, to discuss political, security and economic issues.

    Both exchanged views and put the final touches, the intensive agenda and the meetings to be held with multiple parties in the US administration.

    For her part, the US ambassador confirmed, according to the statement, that "her country attaches great importance to this important visit, especially since this visit comes at an important time in the history of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington, emphasizing the development of ties between the two countries, and that it will discuss the sensitive situations undergoing in the area.”
