The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) granted on Thursday, Iraq the right to host the Olympic teams championship under the age of 23.
The Iraqi Football Association stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " WAFF granted Iraq the right to host the Olympic teams championship under the age of 23 next June."
The statement added, "WAFF congratulated the Iraqi Football Association for its success in hosting 25Gulf Championship in Basra."
On the other hand, the Iraqi Federation stated in a brief statement that "the head of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, won membership in the AFC, representing the western region of the continent."
