Iraq Civil Aviation Authority-ICAA announced the start of rehabilitating all service and health facilities and the two runways of Baghdad International Airport.
A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority, Jihad Al-Diwan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Aviation Authority is waiting for the official letter to start rehabilitating and developing Baghdad International Airport.".
The office added that "the aviation authority has started, since the first days of receiving the new administration, to rehabilitate Samarra and Nineveh halls, and currently all service and health facilities and the two runways of Baghdad International Airport are being rehabilitated.".
On Wednesday (7/12/2022), the Civil Aviation Authority opened Samarra and Nineveh lounges at Baghdad International Airport, under the guidance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani.
The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, had previously directed the need to pay attention to the passenger terminals at Baghdad International Airport and other airports.
Al-Sudani issued strict directives, during his recent sudden visit to Baghdad International Airport, to take care of the passenger terminals and provide them with full services, in addition to other directives related to the work of airports.
