Adviser to the Prime Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs, Iyad Bunyan, confirmed that the presence of the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, at the opening of the Gulf Cup 25, is a great gain and an important step on the way to completely lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums.
Bunyan told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Monday, that "the presence of the FIFA president in Basra is a great gain for Iraq and an effective step to lift the ban on Iraqi stadiums," noting that "Iraq delivered a message to the world that Iraq is safe through the FIFA president who traveled a distance, he walked two kilometers on foot to reach the stadium because of the crowds and fans who celebrated the opening of the tournament in Basra.
Bunyan added, "Infantino was walking in the ranks of the crowds and taking memorial photos with fans," pointing out that Infantino expressed his happiness with the movement in front of the audience on foot.
