Basra Governorate expressed its hope that the good organization of the Gulf Championship 25 will pave the way for lifting the ban on all Iraqi cities and stadiums, stressing that the opening ceremony crowned the joint efforts of several parties.

The Assistant Governor of Basra for Administrative Affairs, Moeen Al-Hassan, told Al-Iraqiya News, and was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "an integrated work system of ministries and state institutions worked with the Basra Governorate to prepare the atmosphere for the Gulf Championship 25, and the opening ceremony was not evidence confirming the success of these efforts."

He added, "The people of Basra set a proud example of hospitality and cooperation with the local government, while the efforts of the security forces and the ports facilitated the movement of those entering Basra."

And he continued, "The opening of the Gulf 25 was distinguished by the testimony of everyone, and the brothers coming from the Gulf countries cooperated with us, and the fans also cooperated, and we hope that Iraq's success in the tournament will be a prelude to lifting the ban on Iraqi football completely and in all cities of Iraq."

He pointed out that "the Arab and international media reported the course of preparations for the tournament in a neutral and fair manner, and expressed his admiration for the quality of the organization and the spirit of the Iraqi fans who are passionate about football."
