The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the guests of Iraq participating in the opening of the Gulf Cooperation Council 25 in Basra.

A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the guests of Iraq, the ambassadors of the countries residing in Baghdad, as well as the honored ambassadors of sports, to participate in the opening of the Gulf 25 in Basra."

The ministry affirmed that "this version of the Gulf in Basra will be exceptional."

In addition to that, added, "We congratulate our people and our Basra, for hosting the Gulf Cup 25, and the launch of the opening match today, and welcome to the brothers in their second country."
