Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Muhammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security.
This came in a brief statement by the media office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday, received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
Earlier today, PM Al-Sudani directed the security leaders in regard concerned to the recent events in Diyala and Kirkuk.
He chaired a security meeting that included the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and various senior security and military leaders from security forces.
The Directives included that military commanders are to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the drawn-up plans to change the military tactics used in areas of terrorist remnants activities.
In addition to that, he directed “to adopt unconventional methods to confront, in a way that weakens the capabilities of Daesh terrorist elements and limits their movement."
