There was this sentence that triggered me in the description of the Program saying, “UNESCO also aims at establishing close relationships with media professionals reporting in Arabic”. As an Editor-in-Chief in the Iraqi News Agency – INA / Iraqi Media Network – IMN, I have noticed the huge gap between the international professional journalists in Arabic. Such program will aid this gap to be filled with closer relationships accordingly. And, as an Iraqi and one of the Arabic journalists, it would be a big chance to us to see the celebration of the Arabic Language Day in a Foreign Country such as France. The way other countries deal with Arabic language and how other professional reporters exchange the news and other journalism materials, is definitely an opportunity that will enrich our work in the INA. I also have given training courses to empower women in journalism and that was a tough task to accomplish since Iraq went through difficult changes and situations that hindered many women of practicing few types of jobs. It will be the best example for them to see a woman as a journalist to attend such program abroad, Paris!
