Oil Minister announces a plan to invest in gas and prevent its flaring completely within four years

Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced on Monday, a plan to invest in gas and completely prevent flaring it within four years.

Abdul-Ghani said during a speech at the Eighth Iraq International oil,Gas and Energy Exhibition and Conference, which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We hope from this conference a lot through research and studies that will be presented in the field of the oil industry," noting that "the Ministry of Oil has taken upon itself Developing the oil and gas production process and increasing production capacity in line with Iraq's position in the global markets.

He added, "The Ministry of Oil has plans to invest the associated gas that is now being burned, and there is a plan to invest it, and this plan also guarantees the investment of all gas during the coming years to prevent its burning completely," stressing that "the plan developed within four years will not be gas burning, and the results will be tangible during the first year of the life of the Iraqi government, especially in some southern fields.”

He continued, "One of the ministry's priorities is to rehabilitate and re-empower the Iraqi oil export system," pointing out that "we are proceeding with plans and will achieve tangible results during the coming years, in a way that will support the national economy."
