Election of the Minister of Oil as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the "OAPEC" Organization

    The Ministry of Oil announced today, Monday, the election of its Minister, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, as Chairman of the OAPEC Council of Ministers in its new session for the year 2023.
     
    The ministry said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani confirmed Iraq's keenness to activate the role of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) and the importance of building new visions of cooperation and realistic dealing with the challenges facing the markets and global oil-producing countries."
    The Minister of Oil stressed, according to the statement, that "most of the Arab countries that are members of the" OAPEC "represent and constitute a great in global oil production, and for this it requires a review of its basic system, in order to enable it to play a greater role in achieving its aspirations, in dealing realistically with the challenges facing the oil market, leading to achieving more stability in global markets.
     
    The statement added that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani was elected Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC)" in its new session for the year 2023, and the representative of Iraq in the organization, Naseer Aziz Jabbar, was chosen as head of the Executive Office.
