Civil Aviation Authority: Baghdad Airport flights were not affected by the departure hall fire

    The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed today, Tuesday, that Baghdad International Airport flights were not affected by the fire in the departure hall, and no injuries were recorded among the passengers.
    The Media Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Jihad Al-Diwan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the fire was extinguished in the departure hall at Baghdad International Airport, and it did not affect the schedule of flights that continued according to its pre-scheduled dates."
    Al-Diwan added, "The fire did not lead to any casualties among the passengers, and an investigative committee was formed, headed by the Director of Baghdad Airport Security, to determine the circumstances of the fire."
    The Civil Defense Directorate announced earlier that the fire had been extinguished, which it said broke out inside the cafeteria of the departure hall at Baghdad International Airport.
    The Civil Defense Directorate indicated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "its teams also treated 3 workers who suffered from suffocation as a result of the heavy smoke."
