Japan's ambassador to Iraq, Futoshi Matsumoto, confirmed today, Saturday, the existence of intensive dialogues with the new government in order to achieve projects that are in the interest of the Iraqi people.
Matsumoto told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "17 Japanese companies participated in the Baghdad International Fair," noting that "his country intends to open wider horizons for investment and trade in Iraq.".
He explained, "JICA is working to provide soft loans to the Iraqi government in all fields, especially in the field of electricity, water and agriculture," pointing to "the completion of electricity and water plants in Basra Governorate.".
He stressed, "there are intensive dialogues and talks with the government in order to achieve new projects that are in the interest of the Iraqi people."
