President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of coordinating efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Iraq, Ahmed Amjad Ali," noting that "the ambassador handed the President of the Republic, a written message from Pakistani President Arif Alvi included congratulations to the President on his assumption of the position as President of the Republic.
Pakistani president confirmed, in his message, according to the statement, that "the Iraqi people will continue their march of advancement, construction and progress despite the security and economic challenges facing the world," expressing his hope "to develop the deep-rooted bilateral and historical relations between the two brotherly countries in a manner that serves the common interests."
While the President of the Republic expressed his thanks and appreciation for the sincere feelings of the Pakistani President, stressing "Iraq's keenness to develop bilateral relations and expand prospects of constructive cooperation to achieve the aspirations and expectations of the Iraqi and Pakistani peoples."
