Kirkuk International Airport announced on Wednesday, upon the first two flights after its opening.
The flights are set to be as the first of a local flight and the second to be abroad.
"Kirkuk Airport, which opened on October 16, will receive the first flight coming from the capital, Baghdad, to the province, on Thursday’s afternoon, and it is the first flight that will start the work of Kirkuk International Airport," said Kirkuk International Airport media director, Herdi Samad, to the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
He highlighted that "the second flight will be towards Saudi Arabia by grouping pilgrims from Kirkuk to the holy lands in Mecca, and it is the first international departing flight."
