President Abdel latif receives a congratulatory message from the Palestinian President

President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid received on Sunday, a congratulatory message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on his election as President of the Republic.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid received today, Sunday, Palestinian Minister of Labor Nasri Abu Jaish, noting that "the Palestinian minister handed the President of the Republic a congratulatory message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on his election as President of the Republic."

The statement added, "The Palestinian President expressed, in the congratulatory message, his wishes for success to His Excellency in his tasks to achieve the goals and aspirations of the Iraqi people," pointing out that "he affirmed the Palestinian government and people's pride in the historical relations between the two countries, keenness to develop these relations."

In turn, the President of the Republic conveyed his greetings and thanks to the Palestinian President for his congratulations, stressing "Iraq's support for the Palestinian issue, and the necessity of coordinating positions in order to establish security and stability in the region and to strengthen joint cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for development and prosperity."
