Security directives to secure Baghdad: Defense Ministry

    Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Rashid Yarallah and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammri issued Thursday a number of directives and recommendations to secure the capital, Baghdad.

     A statement by the Ministry of Defense, received by the Iraqi News Agency INA, stated that "the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Rashid Yarallah, and Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, chaired, yesterday evening, Wednesday, an expanded security conference for all leaders and security services in the Baghdad Operations Command.”

     The statement added that "the conference dealt with the overall security situation and plans to secure the capital, Baghdad, and the most prominent obstacles facing the progress of work," noting that "the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations issued a number of directives and recommendations on exercising caution, intensifying the intelligence effort, and updating plans to secure  capital from any threat.
