US State Department to nominates new ambassador to Russia

The representative of the US State Department announced that the administration of his country will announce the candidate for the post of US Ambassador to Russia in the near future, to complete the duty of John Sullivan in this position.

"We intend to announce the nomination of our next ambassador to Russia in the near future, but at the moment we have nothing to announce," the diplomat said.

The new candidate must be approved by the Senate.

According to a State Department spokesperson, "Ambassador Sullivan's departure from Russia was planned and part of a regular diplomatic alternation."
