No electricity in Lebanon, as of tomorrow

The Electricity of Lebanon Corporation announced, today, Thursday, that the stocks of gas oil have run out and energy production in the country has stopped, as of tomorrow, Friday.

A statement issued by the corporation said, "In view of the sensitive and delicate situation that is beyond the control and responsibility of the entire EDL, the corporation reports that the Zahrani plant will be forcibly put out of service on Friday afternoon, 08/26/2022 due to the depletion of its gas oil reservoir." .

The Ministry also added, "This will lead to the cessation of energy production on all Lebanese territories, provided that the production plants are restarted as soon as the Corporation is supplied with fuels as soon as possible."
