Kirkuk airport will serves more than 3.5 million people annually

    Governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, confirmed today, Friday, that the governorate has completed preparations and security measures for the opening of the city's international airport, while revealing that its capacity will allow to receive more than 3.5 million passengers annually.

    Al-Jubouri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi instructed the opening of the airport in Kirkuk Governorate, and a committee was formed based on the recommendation of National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji to immediately complete all administrative and security procedures for the airport.".

    He added, "All the basic requirements for the airport's work have been completed, and a recommendation will be submitted to the Prime Minister to determine the opening day."
    He pointed out that "the airport will provide services to more than 3 and a half million residents of Kirkuk and the adjacent provinces, and will provide more than 3,000 job opportunities for the people of the province, and will work to support and develop economic, agricultural and investment activity.".

    Al-Jubouri added, "The airport will be one of the most important pillars for strengthening the province's economy and strengthening the bonds of national diversity in it."
