A security delegation headed by Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi visited on Sunday the holy province of Karbala to discuss preparations for the Arbaeen visit.
A statement of Joint Operations Command- JOC received by the Iraqi News Agency INA said that " a Superior security delegation headed by Interior Minister Othman al-Ghanmi and included the deputy commander of JOC, General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, the commander of the ground forces Lieutenant General Qassem al-Mohammadi, the police deputy and a number of security commanders, arrived at the command of the operations of the holy city of Karbala."
The statement added that "the delegation, held an expanded security meeting in preparation for the Arbaeen visit," noting that "the meeting was attended by the directors of police in the provinces of the Middle Euphrates, the Anbar Operations Command and the holy Karbala and the directors of the security and intelligence services."
