Al-Halbousi calls for taking national responsibility to preserve the interests of the people and the country

Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi congratulated today, Friday,  the arrival of the new Hijri year, while calling for taking national responsibility to preserve the interests of the people and the country.

Al-Halbousi said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "By the new Hijri year, we ask God Almighty to preserve our country and grant us the grace of security and harmony, and to be a year of understanding and cooperation for the sake of Iraq."

He called on "everyone, and we are the first of them, to work sincerely to prevent the situation from deterioration and to assume national responsibility to preserve the interests of the people and the country."

He concluded by saying: " Whoever does not care about the Iraqis is not one of them."
