The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, made a phone call to the head of the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah, head of the Iraqi Hajj delegation, Sheikh Sami Al-Masoudi, to congratulate him on the success of the Hajj season, and to check on the conditions of Iraqi pilgrims.
According to a statement by his media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Saleh congratulated the Iraqi pilgrims who perform the Hajj this year, wishing them and all pilgrims a safe return to the homeland," praising "the level of services provided by the Iraqi mission to the honorable pilgrims, as the Saudi Ministry of Hajj praised, and awarded The Shield of Excellence to the Chief of Mission."
For his part, Al-Masoudi praised "The President's follow-up and concern for the conditions of Iraqi pilgrims, and he gave an explanation of the services provided to pilgrims, starting from preparing them to travel, until the completion of the Hajj rituals and return to the homeland."
