Al-Kadhimi meets with security and military commanders in Nineveh

Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al- Kadhimi, chaired a meeting with security and military leaders in Nineveh Governorate where he arrived this morning on an inspection visit.

The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " Al-Kadhimi, chaired a meeting that included security and military commanders in Nineveh Governorate, which he arrived this morning on an inspection visit," noting that "The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Army and the head of the Counter-Terrorism Service."

During the meeting, they discussed the security reality in the governorate, five years after its liberation from the terrorist Daesh, and ways to implement security plans and mechanisms to enhance integration in the work of the security and military services.

Al-Kadhimi congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, asking Allah Almighty to maintain security and safety throughout our beloved Iraq," adding "In such days, our heroes in security forces liberated the city of Mosul, which makes the joy of Eid double."
 
Al-Kadhimi stressed "The importance of establishing preventive security, in order to consolidate the stability of the province, and curb any attempt to harm the lives, security and property of citizens."

Al-Kadhimi said that “Mosul went through very difficult days, but it persevered and resisted and expelled the intruders, emphasizing that “The city was liberated at the hands of its heroes, the heroes of Iraqi Army, Counter-Terrorism Forces, Federal Police, Popular Mobilization, the Peshmerga, and all our brave security forces from all the governorates of Iraq.”

“Our security forces of all branches are still continuing their battle against terrorism in every area in Iraq, and I assure you that they are at the highest levels of readiness in monitoring, pursuing, and eliminating terrorists,” he affirmed.

Al-Kadhimi lauded the intelligence and security efforts exerted by the heroic security forces and , stressing that Iraq succeeded in arresting senior leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization, and infiltrated its depth.”

We are continuing to strongly support our forces to be a striking and effective force against terrorism and all kinds of crime, Al-Kadhimi added.
He also mentioned that “During the past two years, a lot has been achieved in terms of protecting the borders, reaching good levels of security stability, thwarting terrorist plans, undermining the activity of organized crime gangs, and many other security achievements.”

Al-Kadhimi concluded his speech by saying  “May God heal our injured, and have mercy on our martyrs, long live Iraq protected by its security and military forces.”
