Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed on Wednesday, the files of security cooperation and the reconstruction of liberated areas, with the German ambassador to Iraq, Martin Jaeger.
“During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop joint cooperation that will serve the interest of Iraq and Germany. They also talked about security cooperation in combating terrorism, assistance in the reconstruction of the liberated areas, and support for Iraqi institutions with expertise and capacity-building capabilities,” The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
“Al-Kadhimi and the German Ambassador talked about strengthening the partnership between Iraq and Germany in the areas of economy and investment and cultural exchange as well as cooperation in assisting injured Iraqi citizens sent for medical treatment in German hospitals and treatment centers,” the statement added.
The German Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the Iraqi government's efforts in the field of construction and in addressing the effects of climate change and the reliance on renewable energy. The German Ambassador particularly appreciated the Prime Minister’s dedicated attention to completing the projects of the German company Siemens in Iraq within the energy and electricity sector.
