Interior Minister Othma Al-Ghanimi and US Ambassador Alina Romanovsky discussed, on Wednesday, cooperation and coordination in the security field.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA),"Interior Minister Othman Al-Ghanimi met, today, Wednesday, with the American ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanovsky," noting that "Al-Ghanimi welcomed his guest, and discussed with her a number of issues of mutual interest."
Al-Ghanimi stressed "the agreements to combat terrorism and organized crime, including combating drugs and psychotropic substances."
He pointed to "the necessity of working with international organizations working in Iraq in the field of migration," praising at the same time "the support provided by these organizations, especially in the humanitarian aspect."
For her part, Romanovsky praised the efforts of Iraqi security forces and what they achieved in combating terrorism and crime and enhancing security and stability, stressing her country's keenness to develop relations between Iraq and America.
