Security Media Cell announced Wednesday the launch of a large-scale security operation in the governorates of Salah al-Din and Diyala.
A statement by the cell, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, a wide security operation was launched at dawn today, Wednesday, in which units of the Iraqi army participated in the operations commands (Salah al-Din - Samarra - Diyala) and the popular mobilization units of the axes (Diyala and Salah al-Din and east of the Tigris) with the support of the air force and army aviation, that the operation aims to inspect the areas of Wadi Al-Adheim.”
The statement continued, "At the same time, a large joint security operation was also launched between the Iraqi army (the First Division) and the Popular Mobilization Forces, Diyala formations, with the support of the army's aviation in the areas of northern Muqdadiyah and the Diyala River Basin."
