The Diyala Operations Command announced Thursday that a large-scale security operation has been launched to hunt down ISIS remnants in Diyala.
“our forces launched a large-scale three-pronged security operation in cooperation with army forces to inspect the mountainous area between the Naqshbandia junction north of Jalwala district and the Al-Khodhran junction north of Qara Taba district in Diyala," said Operations Commander Taleb al-Musawi in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The area where the operations were launched has not been submitted to previous a security duty due to its difficult natural terrain and is known as a winding mountainous area," he said. ".
"The operation is being carried out through three axes, the first east led by the 20th Brigade, a second and a central axis led by the 23rd Brigade and the 110th Brigade, and a third western axis led by the 4th Brigade and the 24th Brigade, and with the support of the other specializations in the Diyala Operations Command for the Popular Mobilization and Army Aviation," he said.
