The Popular Mobilization Forces announced on Tuesday, the launch of a security operation to pursue ISIS remnants in Diyala.
The commander of Diyala operations for the Popular Mobilization Forces, Talib Al-Moussawi, said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the army, in coordination with the Popular Mobilization Forces represented by brigades (1-4-20-23-24-110- Diyala Brigade), launched this morning a large-scale security operation to pursue ISIS remnants within three main targets in Diyala.
He added that "the operation was launched in the name of (Ashura al-Karama) and included the search and purge of the Hamrin Lake Basin, the Narin River and the North Axis within the operations sector.
The operation continues, with the support of the army's aviation, until its goals are achieved through eliminating ISIS terrorist remnants and block its movements within the set goals, he added.
