The Security Media Cell announced today, Sunday, the implementation of the duty to inspect and cleanse the mountain range surrounding Lake Hamrin and the areas adjacent to it north of Saadia in Diyala.
The cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "At 600 am this morning, the security forces, under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, began carrying out the duty to inspect and cleanse the mountain range surrounding Lake Hamrin and the areas adjacent to it north of Saadia in the Diyala operation sector," indicating The units of the Second Special Forces brigade of the special forces division, units of the 9th Armored Division, and units of the Fifth Division of the Iraqi army participated in this operation.
The cell added, "These units are inspecting the mountain range west of Lake Hamrin," noting that "the second rapid reaction brigade with a special task regiment from the Federal Police Command also participated in the operation."
"The Popular Mobilization Forces, the Diyala axis, are searching the eastern side, searching the areas north of Saadia and east of the lake," they said, explaining that "this operation came with air support by the army and air force."
