The delegation of Iraqi Media Network participates in the meeting of ASBU

    The delegation of Iraqi Media Network participated on Tuesday in the 107th meeting of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) which was held in Tunisia.

    "The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Muhammad Salam, headed the delegation of the Iraqi Media Network at the 107th meeting of the ASBU, which was established in the Tunisian city of Hammamet," noting that "the delegation discussed the late financial commitments to the ASBU and obtained Iraq has decided to reduce its debts by 60% for the past years. Said the reporter of Iraqi 

    “ASBU had decided to hold the 22nd session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival in the Saudi capital, Riyadh," the reporter added.

    "The Kingdom Saudi Arabia is pleased to receive the new session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival in the month of November, ASBU president and CEO, Muhammad bin Fahd Al-Harthi, said during the meeting.”

    "KSA will work to present it differently this year," noting that "it is the first time that the festival has left the country of residence Tunisia," Al-Harthy added.

    During the meeting, they discussed the investments of the ASBU and their financial benefit which witnessed a remarkable development during the last year, according to a statement by Abdelrahim Suleiman, Director General of the ASBU.

    "The Executive Council decided to use these financial benefit to reduce the contributions of member states to the Union's budget and to support media institutions in the Comoros, Djibouti and Mauritania," Abdul Rahim told the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    The Council reviewed to the reports of General Administration on its activities during the mentioned period in the fields of news, radio, sports, technology, development, new media, Arab and international cooperation, and the report of the Arab Center for the Exchange of News and Programs on its activities during the previous period.
