President of the Republic, Barham Salih, affirmed Sunday that justice for the Speicher victims is the least duty towards them, pointing to the importance of national solidarity to consolidate a capable state that protects its citizens.
President Salih said in a tweet on Twitter, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We remember the tragedy of Speicher, the genocide committed by Daesh terrorist gangs against our youth, and the crime that humanity is facing."
He stressed, "Doing justice to the victims is the least duty, and the Presidency of the Republic had the honor to present a law that guarantees their rights."
He pointed out that "national solidarity to consolidate a capable state that protects its citizens to prevent the recurrence of tragedies is the greatest appreciation for the martyrs."
