The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) confirmed on Wednesday ,the readiness of universities to offer exchange of fellowships and scholarships with the Chinese side, while reviewing the coordination tracks regarding the opening of the Chinese Pavilion at the University of Baghdad.
"The Minister of Education, Nabil Kadhem Abdel-Saheb, received the Chinese ambassador to Iraq, Cui Wei, and his accompanying delegation, and the two sides discussed the joint Iraqi-Chinese Technical University project and ways to benefit from it at the scientific level, knowledge investment and strengthening relations academy and the interconnection of experiments related to renewable energy technologies,” a statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated.
Abdul Sahib expressed, "MOHESR Research is keen to renew the cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries and to resume the executive program adoption in the contexts by both sides."
For his part, the ambassador explained that "China and Iraq have a long civilized heritage and cooperation in all fields, especially scientific and cultural ones," noting that "the exchange of fellowships and scholarships for students from both sides will contribute to strengthening the communication of the two peoples over the coming generations."
The statement continued, "The two sides discussed the file of Iraqi students studying in the People's Republic of China, facilitating the procedures for granting entry visas to them and enabling some of them to resume studying in specialized Chinese universities, and reviewed the coordination paths regarding the opening of the Chinese pavilion at the University of Baghdad."
