MOCH Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with UNICEF to develop three service sectors

The Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities(MOCH), Nazanin Muhammad Wassou, signed on Wednesday,  a memorandum of cooperation with the UN organization (UNICEF) in Iraq, To develop three service sectors, the water, sanitation and sustainable environment sectors.

A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Minister of construction, Nazanin Muhammad Wusu, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the UN (UNICEF) in Iraq, to  develop the water, sanitation and sustainable environment sectors, within the organization's cooperation program 2020-2021.

"The memorandum included strengthening the water, sanitation and hygiene systems and empowering local communities to provide comprehensive, low-cost and sustainable services to meet the rights of children and youth," the statement added .

It referred that "the memorandum also included continued work and coordination with international and national non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic and research institutions and youth volunteers, to plan and implement activities for programs more appropriate with climate change to mitigate its impact and provide water, and training courses and workshops to identify obstacles and problems that the water, sanitation and municipal sectors in all provinces are facing challenges."
