During a video conference with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke in favor of creating a "green corridor" for grain exports from Russia and Ukraine, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
"In the current situation, the international community should assist a soonest ceasefire, contribute to creating a ‘green corridor’ for grain exports from Russia and Ukraine," Wang Yi was quoted as saying by the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website.
According to the minister, Beijing was ready to engage in consultations on the issue with all parties concerned.
"China cannot stand aside when important problems that cause particular attention of the global community are being solved," the Chinese top diplomat continued.
He added that China would maintain a responsible stance in those matters.
"We will constantly provide emergency food aid to the countries that need it most," Wang Yi said.
