Security Media Cell announced Sunday the killing of three terrorists during an air strike in Salah al-Din Governorate .
A statement by the SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "in continuation of its path in fighting the evil terrorist gangs ISIS, the security services, under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, continue their qualitative and proactive duties, and according to intelligence information from the targeting cell of the Joint Operations Command,a terrorist detachment was observed riding a pickup truck that the Air Force aviation was provided with this confirmed information, which in turn carried out two air strikes by a Cessna Caravan aircraft on this detachment in the north of Lake Tharthar near the Sukaryat Bridge, which led to the killing of two ISIS terrorist gangs.
The statement added that "a joint force from the Al-Jazeera Operations Command embarked on carrying out a duty in the Tharthar desert," noting that "the air force's aviation carried out an air strike that resulted in the killing of a third terrorist, as it was confirmed that 3 terrorist elements were killed during this operation."
"The security forces found a Kia vehicle that carried explosive materials," it added.
