Popular Mobilization Authority announced Wednesday a security deployment to secure the power transmission towers between Baiji and Kirkuk.
A statement by the Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the forces of the 88th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization mobilized today, deploying along the extension of the power transmission towers between Baiji district, north of Tikrit, up to the administrative borders of Kirkuk governorate," noting that "the brigade conducts patrols along the line and around the clock, especially after the end of the dust storm, which terrorist elements always exploit to carry out their sabotage operations.
The statement added that "the Kirkuk-Baiji transmitting line was previously subjected to sabotage by detonating explosive devices."
