US Defense Secretary Loyd Austin said that US President Joe Biden, with the approval of NATO, has appointed General Christopher Cavoli as the Supreme Commander of NATO forces in Europe.
General Cavoli assumed the position of Supreme Commander of NATO forces in Europe, replacing General Todd Walters, who served for three years in this position.
General Christopher Cavoli now commands US ground forces in Europe and Africa.
And US media reported that General Cavoli speaks Russian, Italian and French, and holds a master's degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies from Yale University.
