The Chinese Foreign Ministry commented on the G7 statement, in which the parties expressed regret over Russia's participation in the G20 financial group .

On the occasion, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that China believes that the use of the G20 and other relevant international institutions should be to discuss international economic issues, not Ukraine crisis .

In this context, a Chinese diplomatic spokesperson said, "We have drawn attention to the relevant G7 statement. We believe that the G20 and other relevant international institutions are platforms for discussing international economic and financial issues. This is not the right place to discuss the Ukrainian issue ."

"The current international environment faces a lot of uncertainty, and therefore the international community needs to unite to deal with it," the Chinese spokesperson said, adding: "The G7 members should take a responsible approach, avoid politicizing and militarizing international cooperation, and bring more stability and clarity to a world facing Multiple challenges .

Officials from a number of countries withdrew from a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in Washington on Wednesday during a speech by Russian Minister Anton Siluanov. They include US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, as well as representatives from the United Kingdom and Canada .
