Iran preparing for more oil swap: Deputy minister

    Iran is negotiating to expand oil swap in line with developments in the crude oil marked, Deputy Oil Minister Jalil Salari said on Tuesday.


    “Our infrastructure is prepared for the transportation of petroleum products, using the capacities of pipelines, railways and roads, and our presence in target markets,” Salari told IRNA.


    He added that Iran has completed studies on the construction of a refinery in Syria.


    “The project will enter a new phase after the joint venture,” he said.


    Salari, who is also the managing director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, said that several African countries have asked Iran to cooperate with them inn building refineries, adding that their demands are under consideration.


    “Iran is capable of transferring its technology,” the official underlined.


    National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company makes use of the capabilities of knowledge-based companies according to what was stressed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.


    The Leader named the new Iranian year as the year of “Production: Knowledge-Based and Job Creation”.
