JOC: Iron Hammer adopts a new method in pursuit of ISIS remnants

    The Joint Operations Command (JOC) announced on Wednesday, that Operation Iron Hammer has a new method in pursuing ISIS terrorist remnants.
     
    "The Iron Hammer operation in Kirkuk province follows a new method by pursuing the remnants of ISIS," the spokesman for the JOC, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News TV, noting that "the geography of the areas in which the operation was launched is difficult and the mechanized infantry cannot enter these rugged sites,"
     
    "There is an assessment of the position and perception of presence of ISIS elements," he stressed, adding "the enemy is prevented from taking hostels or being present in any area,"
     
    He pointed out that "the operation has goals and the security forces must reach them," noting that ”end of the operation will be with the security forces reaching those goals,"
     
    "The continuation of security operations has put pressure on the terrorist gangs. The Federal Police managed in one of the areas southwest of Baghdad to arrest one of the dangerous leaders of ISIS terrorist gangs," he continued.
     
    The Security Media Cell announced on Wednesday morning, the launch of Operation Iron Hammer; broad and comprehensive security operation; to search Wadi al-Shay and Wadi Izghitun in Kirkuk  province and areas adjacent to the Hamrin mountain range.
