The General Secretariat of the Cabinet announced on Wednesday, its procedures against leaking official papers.
The Cabinet’s spokesman, Haider Majeed , told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Official documents circulating between the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and ministries or entities not connected to a ministry and the governorates, as well as documents addressed to official institutions, all include directives, recommendations or decisions."
Majeed stressed, "The documents circulating between the secretariat and institutions are not valid for publication, and the issue of publishing them is a violation, especially as they include classified information for circulation between official departments only."
He added, "There are some documents that are circulated on social media, some of which are forged and fabricated," noting that "publishing non-falsified official documents is a violation."
He continued, "Institutions and ministries shall hold their employees accountable to those who try to leak documents.”
