Government intends to expand project of surveillance cameras in Baghdad

     Baghdad Governor Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta announced Wednesday three projects related to cameras, while indicating the intention to expand the project in the capital.
     
    Al-Atta said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Baghdad Governorate has three projects related to cameras, and work in them has been suspended for several times, but an agreement and study was made with the Ministry of Interior on how to manage this security issue," stressing that "a committee was directed to From the Ministry of the Interior specialized in managing information systems and cameras.
     
     He added, "During 2019, the number of working cameras was very little, but now the number of cameras has become very high, covering most of the parts of Baghdad, and there are positive results gained throughout the province, on the issue of the spread of cameras, especially with traffic follow-up and criminal investigations and accidents that occur on the road, in addition to secure the borders of Baghdad Governorate.
     
    He pointed out, "Securing the borders of Baghdad Governorate and expanding the spread of cameras is developing. Perhaps we will expand this project, and it will be central, such as establishing a central building to manage the issue."
